Art in ‘The Weight of Shadows’

If you read ‘The Weight of Shadows’ you will notice that art plays quite a big part within the story. It threads through a few aspects within the book and the main character, Danny Benedict, is slightly obsessed with art.

I thought it might be interesting to discuss some of this art in a few blog entries. Quite a few artists are mentioned in the book including Camille Pissarro, Edward Hopper and Pablo Picasso.

But initially I thought it might be useful to create a blog where you can see the two specific paintings quoted in the book.

Here they are in order:

‘Triptych August 1972’

By Francis Bacon (1972)

‘Starry Night Over the Rhone’

 By Vincent Van Gogh (1888)
